America’s national debt currently sits at an astounding $12.1 trillion. Congress now wants to raise the debt ceiling another $1.8 trillion. Since 2002, this ceiling has been raised 7 different times.
All it takes is a simple majority vote. How convenient. How easy. And, based on news accounts, Speaker Pelosi plans to attach this piece of legislation to the Defense Appropriation Bill that funds the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, making it next to impossible to vote against the debt ceiling increase without appearing to vote against supporting our troops. Oh, what games we play in Washington!
They just do not get it! Rather than making the tough choices and cutting spending, our elected leaders in Washington, both democrat and republican alike, have failed us…and continue to fail us. They have neither the guts nor the wisdom nor the desire to do what is right for America! It is time to boot them all out!
